My Mama Made it: welcome to the wonderful world of making!

Welcome to My Mama Made It! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read the musings of a creative mom, wife, and entrepreneur.
When the team from the Little Pages approached me about contributing to their lovely site, after pinching myself and doing a happy dance, I thought to myself can I really do this? Do I have enough time? Am I interesting enough? Do I have enough material to inspire other moms to be makers?
One of my proudest moments as a young mom was over hearing a conversation, between my eldest daughter Liv, and our cleaning lady of the time, Colleen, it went something like this:
Liv: “Colleena, look at my beautiful turning-dress (what is a turning dress you may ask? Well it’s a dress especially good for spinning and twirling, as little girls love to do at the age of 3!)
Colleen: “Wow, Livi, it is beautiful!”
Liv:” Thank you Colleena, my mama made it!”
I felt like my heart was going to burst at the moment. I have had some pretty great moments in life, but that one really does stand out as one of my proudest. That my little girl could be so thrilled with something I made her blew me away.
“Making” is my super power! Since I was little girl I have always been able to make stuff.
I specialize in sewing, so you can expect to see a lot of that here, but I like to dabble in any type of making. I want this blog to share my journey through life with my family as a mom, a maker and a lover of beautiful things. I am hoping to share some tutorials, some recipes, some memories, some stories, some silliness, and some inspiration.
If you managed to get to the end of this post, without googling: “what happens next in walking dead?” or some such thing, Thank you! And please pop by now and then to see what this Mama is making!
